I love my landline. So much, in fact, that I have two. But I also know from the work that I do that most landlines, simply by definition, do a better job in an emergency than do mobile phones.  So the fact that this matter has caught the attention of the brilliant, focused and occasionally ribald newsman/comedian John Oliver is very gratifying to me, if for no other reason than the fact that he can reach a larger audience in real time than any professional article or speaker can at an industry conference.  He’s presented the issue with both clarity and accuracy. For those of us in any portion of the 911 space, this is hugely good news!  It just might save lives.  Today..
